Voluntary Transfers for the 2014-2015 School Year
CCSD has been one of the foremost leaders in the development of choice options for parents and guardians. One of the options is provided through what is called the voluntary transfer. A voluntary transfer is an opportunity to request that a child attend a school that does not serve their normal school of residential location. There have been important changes made to the policy as well as the manner in which voluntary transfers are handled.
The BRIDGE Framework: achieving the VISION
That’s why CCSD is committed to investing time and resources to offer educators the support and growth opportunities they need to accelerate learning for all students. Over the past few years, CCSD has experienced significant progress. We continue to build upon that foundation of success and improvement with our Vision 2016 plan, and are motivated to push ourselves even further for long-term success.
We were fortunate to have been awarded Race to the Top District and Teacher Incentive Fund (TIF) grants. This funding provides us the opportunity to accelerate our work and deliver on the goals outlined in Vision 2016.
CCSD's Personal Mastery Initiative
Every student deserves an education personalized to his/her unique needs.
Charleston County School District is the recipient of one of only sixteen Race to the Top-District grants from the United States Department of Education. As a national grantee, CCSD was awarded $19.4 million to transform learning, and teacher and student achievement, through personalized learning in our schools. With this funding, CCSD is supporting the development of a Personal Mastery system in 19 schools with the vision of expanding this work to schools across the district.
